This memorial bench in Fletcher Moss Park was made in memory of Rory McGowan, a sixth-form pupil at Parrs Wood Technology College, who was just 17 when he ran into the path of a taxi on Palatine Road in October 2004. He died the following day. The bench was created by sculptor Jason Thompson. http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/local-news/pals-magical-memorial-for-their-best-friend-1018471
