Hale Millennium Clock and 1908 fountain

A clock tower was erected in Hale on a small triangle of land of Ashley Lane to celebrate the millennium. Dwarfed by it and somewhat lost among the street clutter is a stone drinking fountain erected by T. M. Walsh, a former resident of the district, in memory of his son, George Baker Walsh, and donated to the council at a civic ceremony on 28 September 1908. The original fountain had a water trough for animals but this no longer exists.
