This back street public house closed around 2014/15, although its name is still on the front. However its Banks's sign, which used to hang outside, showing the well-known golden lion has gone. The pub was one of the last in the town to still have a bowling green, which was at the back. It is possible the building may be demolished as there was a recent proposal to build new housing on the site. The pub when open, photographed in December 2008:- Image
