With leafless winter trees it is possible to glimpse the Tuscan Temple on Rievaulx Terrace high above the valley. The OS map shows this as the 'Tuscan Temple' and this is also its official name according to the National Trust, but both the listed buildings website and Pevsner's North Riding book refer to it as 'Doric'. Maybe it's just a question of interpretation of architectural style. The temple is part of the Duncombe Park estate and dates from circa 1758.
