On Wickentree Lane, Hollinwood. Now occupied by a market research company, Ferranti House was the headquarters of Ferranti Ltd, a major UK electrical engineering company known mainly for defence electronics, power grid systems and computer development. Sebastian de Ferranti relocated his company here in 1897 when it outgrew its original London premises. The company closed down in 1994 after over 100 years of innovation in several "high tech" sectors.
