St Mary and All Saints is the largest parish church in Worcestershire dating mainly from the 15th and 16th centuries. The statue is of Richard Baxter. The famous English Puritan cleric, Richard Baxter (1615 - 1691), lived and worked in Kidderminster between 1641 and 1661. During the Civil War, he was a chaplain in the Parliamentary army and after the Restoration he became a royal chaplain. In 1875 this commemorative statue was erected in the town, originally located in the Bull Ring. Today it stands close to St. Mary's - the parish church of Kidderminster.
