All grave markers in the disused cemetery in Memorial Way were removed by the Hospital Board and sold for scrap. The outlines of some of the graves can still be discerned, but it is no longer possible to know exactly where a particular individual is interred. One of the graves in the area depicted in the foreground is that of Wladyslaw Pawel Bartnicki, a Polish national who came to Thorpe St Andrew's hospital as a refugee. He died on 1 December 1960 and was buried in grave #688.
