Office building of 1909 (Architects Perkin and Bulmer) in Burmantofts white 'Marmo' faience, probably the earliest example of the use of this material in the city. 'Marmo' was developed to imitate marble, but to be washable and resistant to erosion. The building has a wealth of ornamental decoration typical of the use of this material, see http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5629681 http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5629682 http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5629683 http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5629684 http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5629685 http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5629686 .
