Low Gates signal box is adjacent to the A167 where the railway crosses that road by a level crossing - the barrier for the crossing can be seen at the right side of the image. The photograph was taken from the bridge over the North Beck. The north-eastern parapet of the bridge cuts across the centre of the image; it has OS flush bracket number 2158 at the left edge.
