Carved stone post by the UC road, in parish of ASHBURTON (TEIGNBRIDGE District), Druidshill, between Rewdown Cross and Welstor Cross, just South of entrance to Druid Cottage, in bank, opposite old gate to an overgrown tank, on South West side of road. Ashburton Parole stone, erected by the Government in the 18th century. (French prisoners of war on parole were stationed in Ashburton 1794-98 and were allowed to walk up to one mile from the town) Inscription reads:- : 1 / Mile / (Ashburton) : Grade II Listed.
