Cast iron post by the B6295, in parish of STANHOPE (WEAR VALLEY District), High Greenfield, Cowshill, 50m South of bridge, on grass verge, on North West side of road. Allendale casting, erected by the Allendale turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : ALLENDALE 10 / ALLENHEADS 2½ : : COWSHILL 1 : Milestone Society National ID: DU_CHAD01.
