Cast iron post by the UC road (was A6), in parish of ASHFORD IN THE WATER (DERBYSHIRE DALES District), Church Street; East end of Ashford village (Greaves Lane bus stop), in tarmac pavement in front of stone wall, on North East side of road. Matlock iron bobbin, erected by the Ashford & Buxton turnpike trust in the 19th century. (Re-located from original location on corner of Baslow Road) Inscription reads:- : BAKEWELL / 2 / MATLOCK / 10 / DERBY / 27 : : LONDON / 154 : : BUXTON / 10 / STOCKPORT / 28 / MANCHESTER 34 : Grade II Listed.
