Metal plate attached to stone post by the A7, in parish of KIRKANDREWS (CARLISLE District), Kirkandrews-on-Usk church, 150m South of junction to Kirkandrews Tower, on grass verge, near pole DP13, on East side of road. Carlisle round iron plate, erected by the Longtown, Snab & Haithwaite Bridge turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- CARLISLE 11 MILES - Grade II Listed.
