Metal plate attached to stone post by the B5304, in parish of WIGTON (ALLERDALE District), High Longthwaite, under hedge near metal seat, on West side of road. Carlisle red stone and curved plate, erected by the Cockermouth & Carlisle turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- CARLISLE 13 MILES WIGTON 1 MILE COCKERMOUTH 14½ MILES Milestone Society National ID: CU_CLCM12A.
