Carved stone post by the B6277, in parish of ALSTON MOOR (EDEN District), above Garrigill, Dodbury, 200m South of junction, East of Bunkershill, on the verge; 100m from sign to Loaning Head, on East side of road. Alston stone, erected by the Alston turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- ALSTON 4 MIDDLETON 18 Grade II Listed.
