Carved stone post by the A689, in parish of ALSTON MOOR (EDEN District), Harbut Law, 100m South of entrance to Sheepriggs, on the verge, on West side of road. Alston stone, erected by the Alston turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- TO ALSTON 1 MILE BRAMPTON 19 MILES Carved benchmark and rivet on top front. Milestone Society National ID: CU_ALBR01.
