Cast iron post by the A41, in parish of CHRISTLETON (CHESTER District), almost under A55 bridge, by car showroom, adjoining railway bridge, on grass bank beside barrier, on West side of road. Cast iron CCC1896, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : CHESTER / 2 MILES : : CHESHIRE / 1896 / COUNTY COUNCIL : : WAVERTON / 2 MILES / TATTENHALL 6 / HANDLEY 5¾ / BROXTON 8 / MALPAS 13 / WHITCHURCH 18 : Maker:- : W H SMITH & CO / MAKER / WHITCHURCH : Milestone Society National ID: CH_WCWT18.
