Cast iron post by the A49, in parish of Stockton Heath (Warrington District), London Road, South of swing bridge, at junction with Fairfield Road in front of wooden fence, on East side of road. Cast iron CCC1896, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : STRETTON / 2½ MILES / GREAT BUDWORTH / 7 MILES / NORTHWICH 10 : : CHESHIRE / 1896 / COUNTY COUNCIL : : WARRINGTON / 1 MILE : Maker:- : W H SMITH & CO / MAKERS / WHITCHURCH : Grade II listed.
