Cast iron post by the A49, in parish of Cholmondeley (Crewe and Nantwich District), North of Beeston Lodge, on grass verge in front of metal fence, on West side of road. Cast iron CCC1896, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : BUNBURY / 4 MILES / BEESTON BROOK / 5 MILES / TARPORLEY 7 : : CHESHIRE / 1896 / COUNTY COUNCIL : : WHITCHURCH / 7 MILES : Maker:- : W H SMITH & CO / MAKERS / WHITCHURCH : Milestone Society National ID: CH_TPWC07
