Cast iron post by the A533, in parish of Dutton (Vale Royal District), Dutton School, on grass verge, on North East side of road. Cast iron CCC1898, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : BARTON / 4 MILES / NORTHWICH 6 : : CHESHIRE / 1898 / COUNTY COUNCIL : : HALTON / 4 MILES / RUNCORN 6 : Maker:- : W H SMITH & CO / MAKERS / WHITCHURCH : Milestone Society National ID: CH_NTRC06
