Cast iron post by the A50, in parish of Church Lawton (Congleton District), Lawton Heath junction, on cut grass by metal railing fence, on West side of road. Cast iron CCC1898, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : BRERETON GREEN / 6 MILES / HOLMES / CHAPEL 8 / KNUTSFORD 16 / WARRINGTON 27 / LIVERPOOL 46 : : CHESHIRE / 1898 / COUNTY COUNCIL : : NEWCASTLE / 7 MILES : Maker:- : W H SMITH & CO / MAKERS / WHITCHURCH : Milestone Society National ID: CH_NCWA07
