Cast iron post by the A6, in parish of Disley (Macclesfield District), Buxton Road West, in tarmac path in front of low brick wall, on South West side of road. Cast iron CCC1898, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : STOCKPORT / 5¾ MILES / MANCHESTER / 12 : : CHESHIRE / 1898 / COUNTY COUNCIL : : DISLEY / 1 MILE / WHALEY BRIDGE / 5 / BUXTON 12 : Maker:- : W H SMITH & CO / MAKERS / WHITCHURCH : Milestone Society National ID: CH_LM176
