The milestone is located 330m East of Monk's Heath Cross Roads, on the grass, back to wire fence, on the North side of road. Parish of Nether Alderley (Macclesfield District). Cast iron post, Old acorn open book, erected by the Macclesfield & Nether Tabley turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : TO / MACCLESFIELD / 4¼ / MILES : : ALDERLEY : : TO / KNUTSFORD / 7 / MILES : Grade II listed.
