Cast iron post by the A537, in parish of Chelford (Macclesfield District), between Chelford roundabout and Yewtree Farm, on the verge by hedge and field gate, on North East side of road, almost opposite bus stop. Old acorn open book, erected by the Macclesfield & Nether Tabley turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : MACCLESFIELD / 6 MILES : : CHELFORD : : KNUTSFORD / 5 MILES : Milestone Society National ID: CH_KFMF05
