Cast iron post by the B5130, in parish of Churton by Aldford (Chester District), Glebe Cottages, in hedge, on West side of road. Cast iron CCC1898, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : ALDFORD / ½ MILE / CHESTER 6 : : CHESHIRE / 1898 / COUNTY COUNCIL : : CHURTON / 1¼ MILES / FARNDON 2½ / SHOCKLACH 6 / WORTHENBURY 8½ / THREAPWOOD 9 : Maker:- : W H SMITH & CO / MAKERS / WHITCHURCH : Milestone Society National ID: CH_CHTP06
