Carved stone post by the A417, in parish of Steventon (Vale of White Horse District), Reading Road; West of Rowstock Corner, under bushes behind footpath, on South side of road. Vale square, erected by the Wallingford, Wantage & Faringdon turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- WALLINGFORD 9 WANTAGE 5 Oxfordshire HER.
