Carved stone post by the A329, in parish of Purley on Thames (West Berkshire District), Reading Road; just East of junction with Briars Close, opposite Bourne Road, on wide verge, on South side of road. Reading half-round stone, erected by the Shillingford, Wallingford & Reading turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- OXFORD 23 WALLINGFORD 10 READING 5 Grade II listed.
