That's one helluva knife he's got there. Based on local history and known as "The babes in the wood tale". It would seem that the fellow with the knife was a 'Wicked Uncle'. The story dates back to 1595 and it is said that a small boy and girl were left in the care of their uncle when their father, an Arthur Truelove died. Because the children had inherited their father’s wealth it was the plan of the uncle to have them disappear so he would benefit. He hired two men to kill them in Wayland Wood, but one man took pity on the children and killed the other man instead and set the children free. However they were lost in the wood, and were never seen again. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6678217
