The principal facility in the Newcastle Clinic is the flatbed MRI scanner, the only one in the north of the country including Scotland. Not only is this available for private patients, but is used by the NHS to refer patients who are obese or claustrophobic or otherwise unable to cope with being scanned in the usual "tunnel" MRI. The building also houses the Newcastle Sportsinjury Clinic which provides physiotherapy and other services.
