Burrow Hall

Burrow Hall is a large 18th-century country house in Burrow-with-Burrow, on the A683 some 2 miles south of Kirkby Lonsdale. It was built over the site of the Roman Fort or Forts of Galacum (also called Calacum), the earliest of which are of the Flavian period. The hall is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building (Historic England List entry Number: 1362517 https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1362517 ) and the stable block to the rear is listed Grade II* (List entry Number: 1164344 https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1164344 Historic England) whilst the two gate piers in the foreground of the photo are Grade II-listed (List entry Number: 1071710 https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1071710 Historic England).
