Carved stone post by the B6321, in parish of Matfen (Castle Morpeth District), on pier 20m West of Great Whittington Road End, at crossroads. Probably privately erected in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : CORBRIDGE / 6 MILES / NEWCASTLE / 15 MILES : : WHITTINGTON / 1¼ MILES / HEXHAM / 9 MILES : Grade II listed.
