From the tower of St Michael's cathedral church. From here, the cruciform plan of Holy Trinity can be seen. Its spire and part of the tower were rebuilt after falling down in 1666. The north porch is 13th century Early English Gothic. Parts of the exterior were restored in the 19th century using Bath stone, rather than the local sandstone. Opposite the church is Primark (originally Owen Owens, then Allders)[1]; behind it the dome of West Orchards shopping centre and beyond that Hillman House[2] residential tower block.
