Bradford Exchange station was closed and demolished in 1973, because it was in an inconvenient position. That is to say, an inconvenient position for the road planners and motoring interests. The fact that it was very convenient for rail users did not count. So a new station (renamed Bradford Interchange in 1983), a much longer walk from the shops of Central Bradford, was built instead. High Speed Trains, as shown here, no longer run from Bradford.
