The other side of the block in High Winford reveals another foundation stone that was part of the former hospital on this site. This side states: 'This stone was laid 11th December, 1935, by Sir Francis Cowlin to commemorate the gift of this ward by the shareholders of Bristol Housing Limited of which he was managing director, Sir George H, Oatley L.L.D. chairman and A. Ernest Ashmead F.C.A.S. Sec.' The hospital opened in 1930 but was enlarged before the war - which was pretty good planning! See Image] for the other side.
