Previously known, apparently, as St John's, this beautifully symmetrical neo-Classical church was built in 1824. Archibald Elliot (1760-1823) prepared a plan, and this may have been used by Robert Gray to build it. 'The Buildings of Scotland' says that it 'would be much more impressive if it did not face north'. The wheelchair ramp rather mars the symmetry of the façade.
