When the fine new apartment and retail shopping block by the market square was built in 2003-2004, a well known Labour MP was invited to open it! It is a prominent and eye-catching landmark now on the south-west side of the city. It overlooks what will soon be the ex-market square and the leisure complex which will eventually replace the already demolished indoor market hall.
