Carved stone post with metal attachment, on the A3057 road, City of Southampton. Shirley Road, in front of former police station, under yew tree, South-west side of road. Erected by the Whiteparish, Romsey & Southampton Turnpike Trust, probably C19. Inscription reads:- : SOUTHTON / 2 / ROMSEY / 5 : Other inscriptions front and back might be modern and painted on. Carved bench marks front and back. Milestone Society ID: HA_SORO02.
