This footpath - Mount Close - links King's Road (behind the photographer) with Appleton Gate (200 metres ahead). On the left is the Parson's Mount sheltered housing complex that was built in phases between 2014-2017 on a site that originally hosted the Parish Church's parsonage, and later, The Mount School. The Grade II-listed "Old School", into which the warden's accommodation for Parson's Mount has been incorporated, is the low, white, single storey building on the left. On the right is the boundary wall of the Parish Church graveyard.
