Some of the most recently completed blocks in the Parson’s Mount sheltered housing complex seen from King’s Road. The first phase of the development opened in February 2014, whereas now the facility provides 22 sheltered housing units overall. The project won the Timber in Construction award for the Best Social Housing Project of 2013. The land originally housed the Parish Church’s parsonage but later became the site of the Mount School. The school buildings however, were demolished in 2004 and the school relocated to modern buildings to an adjacent field on the left. The St Leonard’s Hospital Trust, said to be the second oldest and second largest almshouse charity in England, owns and controls the complex. This particular trust was founded by Bishop Alexander of Lincoln almost 1,000 years ago. A path on the right leads to Appleton Gate.
