So many of Hertfordshire's watercress beds have been abandoned that it is a pleasure to see a thriving commercial operation here. The River Mimram flows to the right of the photo beyond the beds but the water that the watercress is grown in is spring-fed. The pale green strip has just been harvested, while the watercress in the darker strip is still growing. The farm is next to Lilley Bottom Road.
