St Bartholomew's Church at Longnor dates from 1780. The nave and chancel have no separation. Longnor is a market town, not a village, but on a small scale. The churchyard is reminiscent of those in Edinburgh with the houses directly overlooking the graves. The gravestones are of slate and so are particularly well preserved. The whole appearance of the church and its approach is like something out of a Bronte novel.
