Ripple Lane locomotive depot had an open day on the Saturday after the great storm of the Thursday night 15/16 October 1987. Several exhibits and events could not feature as they were cut off by blocked lines, but this steam locomotive, 48151, made it, as well as 80080. Despite travel difficulties a large number of people attended, shuttled in by a diesel service from Barking station.
