By 1897, No.68 Church Street was the Post Office, managed by William Labourn Smith, postmaster. In 1899 it is described as 'Post & Money Order & Telegraph Office, Savings Bank and Annuity & Insurance Office' and, in 1913 'Post and Money Order, Telephone & Telephonic Express Delivery Office'; Smith was described as sub-postmaster. After the Great War, the Post Office moved to No.42 Church Street. Today, the premises are occupied by 'Merit Take Away'.
