They were built for Kingston upon Hull City Council by Wates Living Space but run by Riverside Housing and funded by the Department of Health through a Private Funding Initiative. The development is on the site of former allotment gardens, latterly the site of the former Ralph Smith Centre, Holden Centre, Galen House and Tweendykes School.
