Cast iron post by the A556, in parish of Plumley (Macclesfield District), Chester Road, Winnington Wood, 200m South West of Holford Farm on North-west side of road. Cheshire open book casting, erected by the Cranage & Warrington Turnpike Trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : TO / KNUTSFORD / 4 MILES / ALTRINGHAM / 9 MILES : : PLUMBLEY : : TO / NORTHWICH / 3½ / MILES : Milestone Society National ID: CH_KFNW04.
