Cast iron post by the A684, in parish of West Witton (Richmondshire District), outside houses near School Close, on North side of road. Bedale HD iron casting, erected by the Local Highways Board in the 19th/20th century. Inscription reads:- : {hand} / LEYBURN / 4 / MILES : : LEYBURN / HD : : {hand} / HAWES / 13 / MILES : Maker:- : F MATTISON & Co / BEDALE : Grade II listed.
