A year ago there were three banks in Buckie, and not so long before that there were also two building societies. A couple of weeks ago the Royal Bank of Scotland abandoned all pretence of providing a service to its customers in this part of the world, and closed its Buckie branch, so the Bank of Scotland is now the only bank still left in the town.
