There is an archaeological site in this field, described by Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust. It is a Neolithic to Iron Age "Oval enclosure, pit defined enclosure, pit group". It was much easier to stop and take a photograph where a minor road just crosses the corner of the square than on the Perth to Dundee dual carriageway through the square.
