A view from the back of Perth Road over the Firth of Tay towards Newport. The "bonnie Magdalen Green", celebrated frequently in the verses of William McGonagall, lies beyond the houses that have grown up since the poet's day and just before the Tay Bridge whose construction, tragic collapse and rebuilding inspired his most famous lines.
