Probably late 19th Century, the "Royal Hotel" was acquired by the State Management Scheme on 18 August 1916. The name "Royal Hotel" appears on OS Maps up to 1957, but not on the 1971 OS Map, so is currently presumed closed by the Board between those dates. Appears now to be a private dwelling with no public access.
